The State Bureau of Quality Supervision issued a warning that the "eye protection" table lamp has hidden quality problems.

Table lamps are products that people often use when they work and study. In recent years, many merchants have introduced "eye protection" table lamps that claim to have "eyeless" functions such as "no stroboscopic" in order to attract the attention of consumers, especially parents of students. However, there is no scientific definition of the term "eye protection". Many low-quality "eye protection" table lamps not only fail to protect the eye, but may damage vision.

In view of the possible quality and safety risks of “eye protection” table lamps, the Quality Supervision Department of the General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine recently organized the monitoring of quality and safety risks of “eye protection” table lamp products. A total of 32 batches of desk lamps marked with “eye protection” or “no stroboscopic” on the market were collected from the market, mainly referring to the domestic and international reading and writing operation desk lamps and related lighting standards, and the eye protection function for the market. Two items related to flicker, illuminance and illuminance uniformity were tested. The results showed that 30 batches of samples did not meet the requirements of this monitoring, accounting for 93.8% of the total number of batches. Among them, the detection value of 8 batches of flashing items exceeded the low risk limit requirement, accounting for 25% of the total number of batches; 28 batches of illuminance were too low or the illumination uniformity exceeded the limit, accounting for 87.5% of the total number of batches. At the same time, 28 batches of ordinary table lamps were collected for comparison monitoring. The results showed that 22 batches of samples did not meet the requirements of this monitoring, accounting for 78.6% of the total number of batches, of which 11 batches of scintillation items exceeded the low risk limit. , accounting for 39.2% of the total number of batches; 21 batches of illuminance is too low or illuminance uniformity exceeds the limit, accounting for 75% of the total number of batches. Monitoring shows that the so-called "eye protection" table lamp is not necessarily more eye-protecting than ordinary table lamps.

The General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine advises consumers to pay attention to the following points when purchasing and using table lamps:

First, the nameplate and packaging of the reading and writing work table lamp should be carefully checked when purchasing, pay attention to whether the standard Chinese is used on the package, whether it is marked with the manufacturer's name (or trademark), rated voltage range, rated frequency range, rated current, model, etc. And the product or packaging should have the "CCC" mark to avoid the purchase of "three no" products.

Second, if the consumer has requirements for the flicker, illumination and illumination uniformity of the lamp, the lamp with the “CQC” voluntary product certification mark can be purchased. The certification evaluates the flicker and illumination and uniformity of the lamp.

Third, attention should be paid to the method of use and the environment in which the eyes should not directly see the light source or reflector when using. Work surfaces with specular reflection should be avoided.
