Cree and Cisco push smart lighting system platform

Recently, Cree and Cisco jointly launched SmartCast, a Power over Ethernet (PoE) intelligent lighting system platform, which provides intelligent networked control and data analysis for building lighting. As part of the Cisco Digital Ceiling framework, the solution connects different systems to a single IP network for intelligent networked control. Cisco said the digital ceiling frame will create a smarter, safer and more seamlessly connected building system.

The Cree Smartcast PoE is the first LED lighting platform in this framework that allows for large-scale deployment and adoption of applications under the Cisco Digital Ceiling Framework. Cree claims that its Smartcast PoE intelligent control platform can improve building efficiency and make people work more efficiently. The system also provides better lighting and system energy savings.

Cree is a member of the Digital Ceiling Partner community, which is comprised of a number of corporate partners seeking to create new user experiences through intelligent connectivity, reduce total cost, and enable business analytics to increase the efficiency of traditional labor.

Norbert Hiller, executive vice president of Cree Lighting, said: "Our new connectivity lighting technology with Cisco is leveraging Cree's SmartcastTM technology and Internet communications capabilities to deliver 70% more energy-efficient lighting than traditional LED lighting. In cooperation, Cree is adopting intelligent lighting that is far superior to traditional lighting solutions."

Cree said its Smartcast technology, which is connected to the Power over Ethernet infrastructure, solves the complexity of the inherent debugging of intelligent lighting deployments in the building's internal network. In addition, Cree Smartcast Power over Ethernet is out of the box and is similar to previous Smartcast technology. According to Cree, Power over Ethernet Smartcast technology enables the entire building to be used at the same time.

Cisco's standards-based PoE-powered network platform enables the operation and control of Cree Smartcast series of luminaires, switches and dimmers. Standard Power over Ethernet provides power and networking for the luminaires of this platform without the need for separate data and high voltage power connections.

Tony Shakib, vice president of the Cisco IoT Vertical Business Unit, said: "Crui's expertise is important because we are transforming the industry to help enterprise customers experience the benefits of smart lighting solutions that leverage network technology. ”

Cree claims that its Ethernet-powered Smartcast technology saves up to 70% compared to traditional LED lighting. At the same time, the platform makes new services and experiences possible. The Mobile County Public School in Mobile, Alabama, recently deployed the technology in its administrative office and plans to extend the technology to the classroom in the spring.

The installation plan for the project is currently underway, and Cree's Powercast-based Smartcast technology is expected to be commercially available in the second quarter of 2016.

Waterproof emergency lamp is made of waterproof material , which can be used both indoors and outdoors . Because of its high level of protection , achieve waterproof effect , so it can also be used outdoors . When the power grid suddenly cut down , the emergency lights can be activated backup battery is lit to bring you light .
