In the first half of this year, the retail sales of home appliances increased by 15.3% According to data recently released by the National Bureau of Statistics, in the first half of the year, the retail sales of household appliances and audio-visual equipment in China reached 326.9 billion yuan, up 15.3% year-on-year, of which retail sales in June were 57.2 billion yuan, an increase of 11.7% year-on-year.

Statistics show that in June 2013, China’s total retail sales of consumer goods amounted to 188.7 billion yuan, a nominal increase of 13.3% year-on-year (an actual increase of 11.7% after deducting price factors, and the following are nominal growth), an increase of 1.26% from the previous quarter. Among them, the retail sales of household appliances and audio-visual equipment was 57.2 billion yuan, an increase of 11.7% year-on-year; the retail sales of communications equipment were 17 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 22.4%. In the first half of the year, China's total retail sales of social consumer goods stood at 110764 million yuan, a year-on-year increase of 12.7%; retail sales of household appliances and audio-video equipment reached 326.9 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 15.3%; and retail sales of communications equipment products reached 95.3 billion, an increase of 14.4% over the same period last year.

According to the location of the business unit, in June, the retail sales of consumer goods in urban areas reached 1,264.5 billion yuan, an increase of 13.0% year-on-year; the retail sales of rural consumer goods were 258.2 billion yuan, an increase of 15.1%. From January to June, the retail sales of consumer goods in urban areas reached 0.9759 trillion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 12.5%, and the retail sales of rural consumer goods was 1,497.5 billion yuan, an increase of 14.3%.

Surface-mount technology (SMT) is a method for producing electronic circuits in which the components are mounted or placed directly onto the surface of printed circuit boards (PCBs). An electronic device so made is called a surface-mount device (SMD). In industry, it has largely replaced the through-hole technology construction method of fitting components with wire leads into holes in the Circuit Board. Both technologies can be used on the same board, with the through-hole technology used for components not suitable for surface mounting such as large transformers and heat-sinked power semiconductors.
By employing SMT, the production process speeds up, but the risk of defects also increase due to the components miniaturization and denser packing of boards. In those conditions, detection of failures has become critical for any SMT manufacturing process.[1]
An SMT component is usually smaller than its through-hole counterpart because it has either smaller leads or no leads at all. It may have short pins or leads of various styles, flat contacts, a matrix of solder balls (BGAs), or terminations on the body of the component.
