I recently took apart a Samsung 51-inch rear-projection TV and noticed the red tube was leaking. After some cleaning, everything seemed to work fine, but the next day the power supply stopped working. I checked the power circuit carefully and found no obvious issues. But why wasn't there any power? While troubleshooting, I accidentally touched the +B capacitor's solder point and tried powering it on again. It looked like a poor solder joint, but after a short time, the TV turned off again. I decided to remove the capacitor completely. Upon closer inspection, I realized that several capacitors underneath were leaking liquid. I replaced them and tested the TV for a few days — everything worked perfectly now. This repair wasn’t easy, and the problem was hidden under large components. It’s important not to be afraid of taking things apart — sometimes reworking is the only way to find the real issue.
