When performing maintenance on a hydraulic excavator, it is essential to follow proper safety procedures. Here are some key precautions:

Precautions for Hydraulic Excavator Maintenance on Level Ground

  • Select a flat, solid, and safe ground for the overhaul.
  • Place the bucket on the level ground to ensure stability.
  • Turn off the generator and remove the key before starting any work.
  • Ensure that the brake blocks are in good condition and secure the track properly.

Precautions for Hydraulic Excavator Maintenance at High Altitude

  • Keep all tools organized and clear from the work area to prevent accidents.
  • Avoid spilling oil or grease and do not leave tools scattered around. Be cautious of slipping while moving the machine.
  • Use handrails and tools when climbing or standing on the excavator. Watch out for slippery surfaces.
  • Never jump from heights to avoid serious injuries.
  • If working with a team, agree on a common signal system to communicate effectively.
  • Always follow the command structure and obey the designated supervisor's instructions.

Hydraulic Excavator Draining Oil and Replacing the Filter

Note:

  • Never drain or replace filters immediately after the engine has stopped. Wait until all components have cooled down (approximately 20–40°C) to avoid burns or other hazards.
  • When replacing oil or filters, inspect the old oil and filter for any metal shavings or foreign objects. If a large amount of metal debris is found, contact the factory service department for further inspection and repair.

Hydraulic Excavator Welding and Maintenance

  • Turn off the power supply before beginning any welding or electrical work.
  • If there are any connected electrical components, such as microcomputers, disconnect them first.
  • Clean the area within 1 meter of the soldering spot to reduce the risk of fire or damage.
  • Do not use more than 200V continuously during welding operations.
  • Avoid placing sealing parts or bearings between the weld area and the ground to prevent overheating or damage.
  • Before welding or painting, remove the existing paint and heat the area to avoid harmful gas emissions.
  • Be aware that heating near hydraulic equipment or piping may produce flammable gases, which can ignite if not handled carefully.
