Fire TV adds new web browsing capabilities

Amazon confirmed that Fire TV users can now browse the web on TV through Firefox and Silk browsers, which is equivalent to bringing YouTube back to the Amazon Fire TV platform. Earlier, Google announced that it will stop YouTube's service on Fire TV from January 1, 2018. With Fire TV, users have access to over 500,000 movies and TV shows, tens of thousands of APPs, channels and Alexa skills. Today, users can browse Facebook, Twitter, Yahoo, Reddit, and other sites through Firefox and Silk browsers, and access local or international news sites, video sharing services, cloud photo sites, and other social news, sports, and entertainment content. Fire TV devices are the first streaming media playback devices in the United States, the United Kingdom, Germany, and Japan, with tens of millions of monthly active users. Soon, Firefox and Silk browsers will appear on Fire TV devices in more than 100 countries. Users can easily download the browser from Fire TV and immediately browse the web.
