Passive components such as MLCCs have seen sharp price increases since 2017, and this trend is expected to continue through 2019. In response, the zero-component solution—where display driver chips replace external components—has gained traction. This approach not only reduces the need for capacitors and diodes but also simplifies the design of the display module.
As component shortages persist, this technology is well-positioned to benefit from the growing demand. It’s anticipated that the adoption rate of this technology will increase, especially in high-resolution displays, where its advantages become even more pronounced.
