Recently, LED packaging factory Dongbei Optoelectronics (2499) announced that its subsidiary, Ximao, and the backlight module factory Keqiao Electronics (6156) jointly conducted private placements, and obtained 10 million shares at 3.3 yuan per share, with a total investment of NT$33 million. Ximao obtained a 2.59% stake. Dongbei said that in the future, both parties are expected to strengthen cooperation on light bar backlight related raw materials.
In addition, Keqiao will also handle private placements, raising 699 million yuan of funds at 3.3 yuan per share, and plans to acquire Maxis on the 500 million yuan.
Companies that control 100% of Matsushita Electronics are Matsuzaka Electronics (Suzhou), Wujiang Volt Electronics, Songda Electronics (Xiamen), Songcheng Technology, and Reid Light. The company's main customers include Chi Mei, Sony, Asus, AUO, Sharp, and Power League.
Keqiao plans to complete the purchase in Q1 2011. On February 17, 2011, the temporary shareholders meeting will be held to discuss the private placement and acquisition. After the purchase, the Keqiao plan was renamed Songshang Electronics.
