Where is the curved display screen made?

Curved TV has become a new fashion in TV. Whether it is an OLED curved TV or a LCD curved TV, the user's demand for curved surfaces will only increase. You know how curved screens are made, why the curved surface TVs in the market have different prices, and which one is chosen? Surface TV is better?

Curved TVs have attracted attention because their displays are transformed from the traditional rigid graphic design to the smooth and feminine curve design. In addition, many differences between curved TVs and traditional TVs have attracted consumers' attention. Curved TVs have the ability to make each point on the screen reach the eye at equal distances, whether it is the center or edge of the screen. At the same time, the audience can obtain the best viewing effect from the edge of the screen, and the viewing angle is also wider. You can experience the liveliness and extreme sense of content immersed in the cinema when you are in the audience. This means that the curved television has further provided viewing value on the basis of changing the traditional flat TV design.

Curved TVs are by no means simply bending the flat screen through changes in physical properties. The accuracy of curvature is the key to delivering a more perfect picture quality to viewers. In the eyes of consumers, only a glass-screen display hides a series of ultra-thin circuit boards and driving devices that exhibit color, evenly distributed optoelectronics, and the like.

LCD principle

First of all, let’s take a look at the most important part of a curved TV - LCD

LCD imaging principle: By supplying power to liquid crystal materials that are regularly arranged in a certain direction, the alignment direction of the liquid crystal material is changed, thereby controlling light passing or not, or covering the light source to achieve final imaging.

The LCD is constructed by placing a liquid crystal cell in two parallel glass substrates, a TFT (thin film transistor) on the upper substrate glass, and a red, yellow, and green primary color filter (color filter) on the lower substrate glass to load the backlight. (back light) and polarizing plates.

The quality of a curved TV is mainly determined by whether or not the LCD panel can operate normally when the LCD panel is bent. Therefore, LCD panel technology is an extremely important component for curved televisions.

Unique LCD technology

The core of the curved TV is the vertical liquid crystal alignment technology VA (Vertical Alignment). By applying a voltage to the liquid crystal material, the arrangement direction of the liquid crystal material is changed, and the light cannot be penetrated, blocking the light source and finally achieving the imaging. When the liquid crystal material is arranged vertically, even if physical bending occurs, light leakage or spotting will hardly occur. Therefore, the curved TV is equipped with a vertical LCD panel LCD panel.

In the case of a display that does not use the vertical liquid crystal alignment technology, the light will be completely blocked and cannot be penetrated in the case of physical bending, resulting in problems such as light leakage, dark screen ghosting, and snow spots, resulting in a reduced viewing effect.

Best flat design technology

Due to the special shape of the curved display screen, the misalignment of the upper substrate TFT (thin film transistor) and the color filter of the lower substrate is particularly important. When the upper and lower substrates cannot accurately align and bite together, the screen will suffer from light leakage, color mixing, and other problems. Therefore, the development of an optimal pixel that satisfies the golden curvature and the perfect misalignment of the upper and lower substrates is also a link that cannot be ignored.

When the display is physically bent and the mounting substrate is misaligned at the same time, the color mixing shown in the figure above will appear.

On the contrary, if you use curved professional color display technology to create a "view no dead angle" high-definition curved display.

Surface Times

In order to create a perfect curved TV, the VA (Vertical Alignment) technology is the prerequisite for the Golden Curvature & Vertical Liquid Crystal Alignment. In addition, the unique design and the perfect process are also indispensable. Especially in the case of increased resolution and improved pixels, the demand for technology will increase. In addition to the 4000~4500R curved TVs that have been circulated in the market, curved display screens below 3000R have also begun commercialization, which means that the curved display technology is moving toward a more mature one.

According to statistics from IHS, a market research agency, the sales volume of global curved TVs reached 109,470 in the second quarter of this year, and the quarterly sales exceeded the one million mark for the first time. In the first half of the year, sales amounted to 1.79 million 7600 units, an increase of 5.8 times year-on-year. The sales of 1.76 million curved surface televisions last year is expected to reach 5,246,000 this year. Following this year's growth momentum, it is expected to reach 7.73 million units in the next year.
