Energy efficiency is becoming more and more important for healthcare equipment. Improving energy efficiency is an important design goal for R & D personnel. Semiconductor technology helps improve the economics, ease of use, and product quality of healthcare equipment, and expands the scope of healthcare services to health care and disease prevention. Remote patient monitoring technology plays an important role in this. A remote patient monitoring platform must be able to monitor various physiological parameters of the human body to support the personalized requirements of the monitoring service, and the personalization of the monitoring service requires that the monitoring equipment can be worn on the body, expand the system capacity, interact with other devices, and transmit data online , Provide data security function, high energy efficiency, can be used once.

STMicroelectronics has developed a health monitoring system (HMS) that is expected to have this flexibility, integrating various devices for the platform, including a set of sensors (sensor kits) and a data processing that users can wear And network connection equipment Body Gateway (BGW), as well as the main communication equipment, servers and databases. Currently, sensor kits and human gateways are the research and development priorities of this project, and the server and database for platform verification are already defined and deployed. STMicroelectronics has also developed an example of a patient monitoring application used on a portable terminal, allowing patients to directly view some of the monitored physiological parameters.

The architecture of the health monitoring system shown in Figure 1 consists of the following modules:

(1) Sensor kit: It is a set of in-vivo and in-vitro sensors, including a 3-axis accelerometer and a pressure sensor to monitor vital signs and physiological parameters, such as electrocardiogram (ECG), heart rate, human activity, blood pressure, and weight.

(2) Human body gateway equipment: It is a data processing and network connection device worn by users, used to collect sensor data, perform preliminary processing, save data, and prepare to transmit data to remote application servers through the network. Gateway equipment is responsible for sending alarm signals and information to users, and managing the communication interface between users and service providers.

(3) Main communication equipment: it is the communication bridge between the human gateway equipment and the remote server. When data needs to be sent, the human gateway device is used to establish a network connection. The main communication device transmits data between the patient's location and the remote application server through the network. The main communication device is equipped with a user drawing interface for the patient to consult the doctor about the condition.

(4) Clinical trial service library and service architecture: indicates the remote processor software and hardware architecture, responsible for establishing a secure connection, verifying the user's identity, collecting data received by the human body gateway, providing health consultation and monitoring functions, and sending an alarm to the user Newspapers and information. These servers represent all the services of the service delivery center.
