Recently, there have been foreign media to Meta's headquarters in Silicon Valley to experience two demos of Meta 2 and one is brain evolution.

The following points are their experiences:
1. The video is taken with the front camera of Meta 2 and then it is overlaid with AR content, so this is not the picture seen through the AR glasses, but the content of the video is very close to what the glasses see.
2. The true resolution is actually much higher than what you see in the video, and all the text in the demo is legible. For comparison, the video was captured at a resolution of 1280 x 720, while Meta 2 actually provides a single-eye 1280 x 1440 resolution.
3, AR content is specifically for my view rendering, not the camera. When I reached out and touched something, it sometimes seemed that my hand was out of the camera's field of view, but for me, I touched the object directly, which was cool and the object was in your brain's mind.
4. The video does not show occlusion, but it actually appears in the view of the glasses. So, although I seem to be behind some objects, my line of sight appears partially blocked.
5. The tracking fidelity and delay in the video are close to those seen through the glasses themselves.
6. The picture-in-picture video from the external view is synchronized manually, which does not represent the actual delay.
7. The viewing angle is basically the same as that of real glasses. The difference is that the field of view of the human eye is much larger than the area shot by the camera. Therefore, although it can be seen here that the AR content spans the entire field of view captured by the camera, it does not span the entire field of view of the person. In other words, compared with other AR heads, Meta 2's field of view (90 degrees) is quite large and very attractive.
8. Occasional jitter in video frames (especially in evolutionary brain scenes) may be due to difficulties in keeping up with the recording process. But when watching through heads-up, I found the scene running smoothly.
Through experience, the advantages and disadvantages of Meta 2 are obvious. The biggest advantage lies in the wide angle of view. The biggest flaws are delay and jitter. Although there is a certain gap with Hololens, this AR product that is close to the consumer-grade head price has a lot of room for development.
