[Hui Cong Lighting Network] Osram Semiconductor has introduced two white-light versions of Oslon LX LEDs, which are designed to backlight LCD displays and emit bright light. If equipped with an optimized lens, light can be efficiently injected into a thin light guide. . Therefore, the display can be slimmer, achieving uniform brightness even on one side. Oslon LED is currently the world's smallest 1W LED.
The Oslon LX LED is a compact design with a typical light output of 75 lm or 90 lm at 350 mA. The light is incident on both sides or even from one side and is sufficient to provide uniform backlighting for TV and computer monitors up to 65 inches. The polynomial lens is mounted at a beam angle of 125°, which allows nearly 80% of the light to enter the light guide.
Oslon LX offers two color gamut versions: a multi-white version and a super white version. The multi-white version (high color gamut white) covers 100% of the sRGB color gamut, with a typical light output of 75 lm; the ultra-white version of the LED covers 80% of the sRGB color gamut, with a typical light output of 90 lm, which is slightly brighter than the white version.
Oslon LX is manufactured using the latest ThinGaN chip technology combined with chip-scale conversion technology for superior light efficiency and extremely uniform light distribution. The lens is optimized for maximum light extraction efficiency; its excellent beam characteristics ensure high incidence efficiency of nearly 80%. The new LED is only 3 x 3 x 1.6 mm in size and is particularly suitable for directing light from the side into a light guide with a thickness of 2 to 4 mm, so that the LED can be used to make a very thin display. These characteristics make it a key product in the LCD market. The TV with the Oslon LX LED will debut at the IFA exhibition in Berlin from September 4th to 9th.
Both versions of the Oslon LX emit a lot of light from a small surface. Equipped with an optimized lens, light can be injected into the light guide plate extremely efficiently.
