Intel: Releases Fifth Generation Core

January 6 news, according to foreign media reports, Intel at the 2015 CES show released its fifth-generation Core processor, this processor is designed for desktop and high-performance notebook computer designed, Intel hope this Products can rejuvenate the PC market.

Intel officially released the fifth-generation Core processors for desktops and high-end notebooks on Monday. Compared with the fourth generation chip, this generation of products can provide higher performance, longer battery life and stronger image display capabilities.

The fifth-generation chip will be applied to all new Intel processors. In August of last year, Intel just released Core M Series chips for tablets, small form factor notebooks and all-in-one computers.

Intel also announced on Monday that the new, more powerful Cherry Trail tablet processor is now shipping to customers and is expected to appear in new products in the first half of this year.

Intel announced this new product at the time of the 2015 CES show. Intel and other technology companies will release new products based on the fifth-generation Core processors at the show, and may launch more powerful processors by the middle of the year. .

Most of the world's desktops and laptops are equipped with Intel's processors, but sales of those devices are declining year by year, as more and more consumers begin to use smart phones and tablets to complete computing tasks. According to market research firm IDC, global PC shipments in the third quarter of 2014 decreased by 1.7% from the same period a year earlier.

Intel’s latest chips will persuade more consumers to upgrade PCs or consider purchasing high-performance laptops or desktops to accomplish tasks that cannot be accomplished on mobile devices such as image processing or video editing.

In addition, Intel will also apply the latest RealSense technology to the new chip, which allows users to scan 3D and connect wirelessly to the PC. Patrick Moorhead, president of Moor Insight and Strategy, said: "With these new features added to the platform, they will be more popular."

Although Intel uses the latest Core processors to make desktop computers more attractive, it also introduced Core M to encourage customers to upgrade their laptops. Now Acer, Dell, Lenovo and other computer manufacturers have applied the Core M to their mobile devices. This processor can make mobile devices lighter, thinner, more energy-efficient and does not require a fan.

The latest Core series chips, Core M and Cherry Trail, use the 14-nanometer architecture code of Broadwell. Intel spent many years developing these products, but it cannot be listed because of advanced production technology.

By reducing the chip size, Intel is still at the forefront of the industry in releasing advanced processors. After upgrading from Hastell's 22nm chip to 14nm chip, PC makers will be able to produce more powerful and thinner devices.
